Carlisle Ambassadors collaborate with More Handles and Carlisle Brass to hit the nail on the head with a new project
Here's the press release we recently issued for a fantastic "Best Dressed Doors" project inspired by Carlisle Ambassadors. We are very proud to be involved, and also delighted that so many other companies have joined in to make this a real success both for the city, and to benefit CFM Radio's Cash for Kids. Take a moment to listen to Mike Hunt of More Handles explain what inspired them to roll up their sleeves and make a difference!
Dress up your Doors and Give "Any Old Iron" for Charity! More Handles and Carlisle Brass, in conjunction with Carlisle Ambassadors, have launched a new campaign to smarten up Carlisle's front doors. Launching the "Best Dressed Front Doors" campaign and competition, Paul Rheinbach (managing director of More Handles) said "the ethos of Carlisle Ambassadors is to make Carlisle a better place to live, work, invest and visit! After the first meeting, we were inspired to contribute to this goal, and immediately collaborated with Carlisle Brass to improve the "kerb appeal" of the area and to benefit a fantastic local charity at the same time." He added "Some of the UK's most influential hardware companies are based in Carlisle; Carlisle Brass is the UK's leading manufacturer and More Handles is a specialist retailer (and one of the largest internet suppliers) of architectural ironmongery. We want to see the city thrive in every way." The companies are offering a high quality door set on a not-for-profit basis (£19.99 instead of £50) to city residents, or the chance to choose any alternative at a 20% discount. They are also aiming to raise a significant sum for charity by giving residents a central point for recycling old metal, which will be "cashed in" at Mountelm Scrap Merchants at the end of May – the sum will be donated to CFM charity Cash for Kids. Story Homes and Story Construction, Halston Aparthotel, and Top Notch Construction are setting an example by committing their metal during this month, and encourage others to do the same for this excellent local charity. CITO Cleaning are adding in a "Home Front Clean" for £10.00 including front windows and power washed drive. Sara Oldham of Cash for Kids said "it is exciting that the Carlisle Ambassadors are already proving to be a catalyst for improving the city, and it is fantastic that the first project involves More Handles and Carlisle Brass raising money for Cash for Kids at the same time." Customers can call and collect the 'Front Door Package' from More Handles by quoting the Carlisle Ambassadors' Best Dressed Front Doors Campaign. They can also bring "any old iron" in towards the pile that will be converted into Cash for Kids! The Halston Aparthotel have donated a night's stay, and Funky Fusion Glass Design is creating a special plaque for the winner of the competition. The first competition entries are in, and scrap including a cast iron bath was donated within hours – it is all looking very promising for this collaborative scheme to dress up the city and raise money for charity at the same time!
